My "365 Days" Contributions

There was a project called "365 Days", run by Otis Fodder, where people could send sound files of strange songs which were posted each day of the year, and where you can still hear the songs even today!. The project ran in 2003 and again in 2007. I sent in one recording in 2003 and quite a few in '07. Here are the links to my contributions.

"The Recorded Detailman" - Norgine Laboratories This was a 78RPM record I came across, which advertised a prescrition drug to doctors. To add to what I said on the post, the announcer I believe was the announcer on the "Guiding Light" radio show in the early 50's who said "Good day ... and good Duzzing". I also have to add that the only image I sent in was the record label.

The project ended after 2003. Then in July of 2007, I found out that the project was going on again. So I did what I could to put in some things over the next few months - although not nearly all I have in my strange music collection.

"I Believe He's Gonna Drive That Rig to Glory" - Craig Donaldson and Ralph Harrison In 2003, there was a song someone put in called "Dryclean When You Care". When I got my record and played it for the 1st time, I noticed that the narrator on this one sounded a lot like the one in "Dryclean When You Care"! So my first post in the '07 "365 Days" project was this one.
Playhour Records collection Here are some 45's from the kiddie-song label Playhour Records. One sad note here: in November, I found a few more of these records that I thought I threw away, but didn't. If and whenever the 365 Days Project gets started up again, I'll see about having those put in.
"The Great Soybean Raid of 1981" - Tom Mason No doubt one of the strangest "tribute" songs I've had in my collection.
MSR 45's collection Since I posted those, I have received another jammin' 45 with Bobbi Blake!
Hollywood Artists 45 collection More song-poem 45's.
Unknown Band A couple of reel-to-reel tapes with music recorded on them by an aspiring rock group, probably from the Tri-City area.

And that's it. It doesn't look like the project is continuing in '08, but I hope that sometime it'll start up again, and of course that I find out about it a little earlier than July.

Best regards to all involved in the past "365 Days" projects!
