Sammy's Links
Here are some web pages I found
that have some interesting things in them.
Please remember that even though I try to make my website
suitable for everyone, there will be some language in some of
these pages that not everyone will like.
Amiright This page focuses on misheard lyrics of songs, but also has parodies - including 2 I wrote myself.
Custom Records A company that will make a dubplate record of anything you send them from CD or you can download.
Download Free Fonts I guess font downloading websites are getting "napsterized". Oh, you can search for fonts, allright, but when you see the list of them, you see a price for each one. Here's one of the few free font downloading sites still standing.
Joseph Reed's MySpace page A MySpace page run by my brother, who is a talented musician & songwriter.
The NBC Chimes Museum A look - and listen - at different versions of the NBC chimes through the decades, from the original 7-note version through later times.
PlanetChristmas An all-Christmas, all-year-round site dedicated to that most special of days.
Sammy Reed, the dog I did a search on the name "Sammy Reed", and this page showed up about someone of the canine persuasion who has the same name. It was here also that I learned about the cross-breed called a "labradoodle".
Steve Diggs The official website of the man who did the infamous recitation "Flight 408", with info on his current motivational speaking career and other things!
Tribute to Powder Puff, the cat (1991-2003) Some years ago, I submitted a tribute to our cat, the late, great Powder Puff, to a website called In Memory of Pets. Here is the entry for her. (By the way, the brother was Joe. At the time, I was still a little fidgety about stuff like giving out names of relatives online.)
The Wonderful and the Obscure Bob Purse's strange-music "blog", with new songs usually added weekly.
Computer emulators:
DOSBox A
freeware emulator that lets you run DOS programs in Windows XP
and later!
Edsac Simulator A freeware program that operates with
"controls" that simulate the old EDSAC computer, as it
existed from 1949-51! (The makers point out that it doesn't have
any later conveniences like the "unconditional branch
order" or anything like that.) If you have the know-how, you
could make programs with this (If you do, of course, you
know a lot more about it than I do). The programs that
come with it include the first 2 EDSAC programs of 1949, and one
of the earliest computer games - a tic-tac-toe game written in
1952!
UNIVAC Simulator This simulates the
legendary UNIVAC computer. The freeware version, which I think is
a neat thing to look at, does come with a rudimentary sample
program, but the creator really wants you to register
the program for $35, for which you'll get a help file giving you
pointers on how to program the UNIVAC, as well as a tic-tac-toe
game.
VICE A
freeware zip file containing emulators of various Commodore
computers from PET to Commodore 128!
